The Tesfa Foundation has opened seven schools in Ethiopia in as many years, serving more than 1000 children. Our missions are:
(1) early childhood education for children from disadvantaged families, and
(2) safe homes and educational opportunities for teenage girl athletes at risk.
Please support our kids while you take on the personal challenge of finishing a marathon, or setting a personal record. It’s easy and it’s fun; and the impact on the lives of hundreds of children is incalculable.

Tesfa’s marathon team will be small and personable. Every individual’s goals are team goals. Your teammates are there for you every step of the way. Heading the group will be University of Minnesota athlete Ariella DePrenger-Gottfried, who has run in more than a dozen marathons and brings invaluable experience to the team. She will provide exceptional training and clinics on fitness, nutrition, gear and injury prevention.
